WWMT Questions / Bah wallworm model tools not working :/
November 22, 2012, 04:01:11 AM
Hey,
So I looked in the documents from wwmt and read pretty much the whole forums but can't find a solution xD
I'm using 3ds max 2012 x64 sp2 and whenever I try to export a model and its textures to source I just get errors...
using Windows 7 x64
when trying to export the model I get this:
it creates all the smd files and .qc in the modelsrc folder but no bat file
also its not present in my mod folder.
as for the texture error:
this one I don't understand aswell because I've set the paths properly and yet it keeps giving me this error no matter how many times I redo the paths or reinstall wallworms. The texture is a 64x64 16bit .tga
modelsrc: d:\games\steam\steamapps\myaccount\sourcesdk_content\ep2\modelsrc
materialsrc: d:\games\steam\steamapps\myaccount\sourcesdk_content\ep2\materialsrc
bindir: d:\games\steam\steamapps\myaccount\sourcesdk\bin\orangebox\bin
gameinfo: d:\games\steam\steamapps\myaccount\half-life 2 episode two\ep2
Got any suggestions ? :'(

WWMT Questions / unable to get models into game
October 22, 2011, 12:59:02 PM
Hello,
Okay so after I got the new 3ds max 2012 I also got the latest wallworm tools, I had to redo all the paths etc but I used the video tutorial so I thought there weren't any problems, however if I export model all the .qc,smd files etc go to this directory:
username\sourcesdk_content\ep2\modelsrc\Props_StefanC which is correct because that also happens in the video, however it does not create a .bat file and when I open my model viewer its no where to be found. I also can't find any .mdl/.phy/.vtx etc files so I assume it didn't even compile the files, I did however turn compile models on export on but it never happends. before I got 3ds max 2012 my paths were completely different and it all worked.
this is were my qc,smd files used to go before I got 3ds max 2012 and the new wwmt:
D:\Games\Steam\steamapps\username\half-life 2 episode two\ep2\models\props_stefanc\props_stefanc
then in 1 folder back "models\props_stefanc" the .mdl/.phy and all the other models would be placed
this is because I set the path to that place and it worked fine ... after reinstalling I forgot the paths I had set and decided to follow the tutorial but if I use the paths in the video it does not work at all, it wont even create a .bat file but if I put it in this directory:
D:\Games\Steam\steamapps\username\half-life 2 episode two\ep2\models\props_stefanc\props_stefanc
like I always used to it does create a .bat file but when I launch it I get an error saying unable to find gameinfo.txt
I thought ep2 didn't need the gameinfo.txt ?
anyone got ideas ?

General Discussion / Re: Review and General Feelings about 3ds Max 2012
October 19, 2011, 05:46:16 AM
Hey,
I got 3ds max 2012 as well and it is a big improvement I do say, I do not agree about what you said about the new viewport renderer nitrious, if you look at this video for example : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gz6bOU4JX1w I'm experiencing the same thing as that guy, the viewport is wonderful. I also like the new features in the Unwrap UVW modifier but they definitely F#$@ed the Scale fucntion as u can now only scale horizontal or vertical at a time but not at the same time which is very annoying when you have to scale something down, however I do feel that the uvw window is very slow because it tends to freeze up and crash. all in all I do think its a big improvement compared to 2011 and 2010.
